Mad Hatter’s Tea Party brought to Bournemouth Square

Bournemouth Square went down the rabbit hole with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Anita Rani.

The pair, who are currently filming for their BBC One documentary War on Plastic, were seen in a Mad Hatter and Alice costume.

The Tea Party had a slight twist to the one we are used to seeing in Alice in Wonderland and instead highlighted to onlookers the amount of plastic inside tea bags and plastic wrapping used in supermarket sandwiches.

Kira Wright, a Bournemouth resident, said: “It’s made me a lot more aware of how I could be contributing to plastic waste and something should be done to reduce the plastic in tea bags and sandwiches.”
