The Church of England is the biggest religious institution in the country. It’s the Church of the State!
For the last 40 years, the church has faced allegations of racial discrimination.
But in the last year and a half, a report written by a task force was released in which it explicitly says that the church must act if it wants to reedmen itself.
In this documentary, we take a look at the recent From Lament to Action report by the church of England about allegations of racism from church leaders.
We speak to the Minority Ethnic Vocations Officer, Rosemarie Davidson-Gotobed, to understand why the church has failed to address this issue and what can the church do to change.
We also hear from Charles Idu, from Nigeria, who is considering being ordinated in the Church of England, and how he feels about these issues the church faces and whether he thinks it’ll stop him.
