Cherries midfielder Emiliano Marcondes has returned to FC Nordsjaelland after six years away from his boyhood club.
The 27-year-old has been unable to make an impression on Gary O’Neil after turning down a move to FC Brondby earlier in the season, as he sought to force his way into the first team.
With a record of seven goals in 24 games for the Cherries, Marcondes may feel somewhat hard done by for not being given more of an opportunity under both Scott Parker and O’Neil.
The Dane had hit the ground running after joining as a free agent following his release from Brentford in July 2021. After an initial run in the team during Bournemouth’s record beating start to a league campaign, the midfielder’s appearances were few and far between. He was limited to cup matches and substitute appearances at the club.
Craig Beazley of the UTCIAD Youtube channel knows Marcondes well and highlighted charitable work the player did whilst on the south coast.
Listen to what he had say about here:
Marcondes was the ultimate professional in his time at the Cherries and his presence in the changing room will no doubt be missd and the midfielder penned a message to the club and his teammates on Twitter following his move back to Denmark stating he “will see you gys in the summer”.
Thanks for all the incredible support you Cherries gave me this season. You guys are wonderful! Also cheers for all the staff and my teammates all the luck for the rest of the season, see you guys in the summer! 🫶🍒 #UTC @afcbournemouth https://t.co/DF8FWJZ3A7

The deal gives Marcondes the opportunity of regular first team action, freeing up a space in the Cherries squad with arrivals expected to flood through the doors. Now that James Hill, and Jamal Lowe have also moved on, new American billionaire owner Bill Foley is poised to open his cheque book and bring players in before the window shuts at the end of the month.
