Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information to come forward following a report of a fight in Bournemouth that saw a man hospitalised.
Officers were called to the scene at 12.47am on Sunday, 15 January 2023 to the incident involving two groups of people in Old Christchurch Road.
A Bournemouth man in his 40s was taken to hospital with head injuries and remains there receiving treatment and five people have been arrested.
A 17-year-old boy from St Leonards and a 20-year-old man from Ringwood have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
An 18-year-old man from Ringwood has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. A 17-year-old girl from Ringwood and a 41-year-old Bournemouth man have been arrested on suspicion of affray – All five people have been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.
Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing and I am appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to please come forward.
“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who might have relevant dashcam or mobile phone footage that could assist our enquiries.”
