The National League have released a statement on the morning of the 6th November advising Weymouth FC will be in “full isolation” following a high number of positive results.

A significant number of the playing squad and back-room staff have received positive Covid-19 results.

Within the statement, the National League have stated: “following a high number of Covid-19 positive tests, and in line with League protocols and PHE guidelines, Weymouth FC has been placed in full isolation until 16th November under a High Alert category.”

The date comes only one day before arch-rivals Yeovil Town are due to visit the Terras at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The National League added: “The Leagues policy is always driven by medical advice and will continue to be our highest priority in every circumstance involving a Covid-19 result”.

As a result, following the away match to Stockport County and the home visit from Chesterfield, both clubs have been told in line with League policy: “to raise their Covid Alert level as deemed appropriate.”

The National League advised: “the League fixture involving Weymouth and Wrexham is formally postponed on Saturday 14th November.”

One month prior the club announced a positive Covid-19 result. This caused 4 players and a backroom staff member to isolate. However, the League agreed that the Terras’ league program was still okay to go ahead.
