Poole Town came from two goals down to beat Shaftesbury 3-2 at Cockrams to set up a showdown with Weymouth.
Prolific striker Tony Lee grabbed two goals before Will Fletcher sealed a late winner to send the reigning champions into the final of this season’s Dorset Senior Cup.
Goals from Tyler Forbes and Ashley Pope had put Shaftesbury ahead at the break but in a classic game of two halves it was Tom Killick’s Poole that progressed to the final where they will attempt to lift the trophy for the second year running.
In the evening’s other semi-final, National League South side Weymouth beat rivals Dorchester 2-0 at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Ahkeem Rose scored a goal in each half as the Terras secured their spot to face Poole. The final will see the two most decorated clubs in the competition’s history take each other on.
Weymouth have won the competition a total of 11 times with Poole lifting the trophy on 14 occasions.
The Terras last won the title in 2020, meaning this season final will see the previous two winners face off to become the champions of Dorset.
Poole Town Chairman, Chris Reeves, is looking forward to the clash with the National League South side, and believes the game will be close.
